MEET YOUR SPEAKER | Christine from Natural Intuition Photography

Hey everyone!!! It’s your host and creator here today!!! I started Rad because I wanted a safe place for women to go and get away from their everyday lives – somewhere where they can learn AND be pampered. We work so damn hard and we put our families and business first, we NEED to do something for ourselves once in a while … RIGHT!? So that is why I started the Rad Photographers Retreat. I am excited to see how it will grow in the coming years!

Now, get to know me below!

What surprised you the most about owning your own business?

How lonley it was. I am a daughter of a 2nd generation farmer and have 2 siblings that own their own business so I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. Hard work runs in my blood. But, the loneliness of it all surprised me the most – the fact that I wouldn’t leave my house for days because I was too tired, or wanted to veg because it was a hard day, week or weekend of work.

What do you like LEAST about your career?

The damn paperwork. Over the years my OCD has grown, so it is getting easier, and Honeybook has totally helped too. I don’t know what I would do without Honeybook now.

The best advice for your clients?

For wedding clients I remind them that the only thing that matters at the end of the day is that they are marrying the love of their life, their best friend that ends with a killer dance party! The wedding day is just the rad begining of a new adventure together.

For family sessions I just tell them to be themselves – the kids can get dirty, make silly faces that is reality of family. It shows the love.

Most of all I tell couples that it will feel more like a hanging out with friends who have a really nice camera.

What is your go-to music to work to?
My Pandora is always on Shuffle – so everything from classical to rap.
Best advice you’ve received?

Do what feels right to you! Listening to your gut will never steer you the wrong way! You can do all the research in the world, learn from the best, but it just might not work for you and your business. That is OK! We learn, grow and keep going!

You don’t fail you just learn.

What advice would you give an aspiring woman interested in your career or any career?
DO IT! (and all the stuff above!) If you are dreaming of being a photographer, take 2nd shooting gigs, shoot everythign and anything, and never give up. If are truly meant to do this, you’ll work for that dream you see. The only true failure is to not try.
What are at least THREE things you cannot live without on a daily basis?

Coffee, kitty cudles and Justin talking me down (some days are hard)

What does your day normally look like?

Wake up between 6-8, make coffee (usually there is homemade cold brew on days I know I want a jolt right away), eat breakfast in bed while watching Netflix, then work the afternoon away. Usually getting done before 6pm in the Summer so I can enjoy time outside with Justin.

What are you looking forward to most at the Rad Photographers Retreat?
Getting to know all the new ladies, learning some amazing things from the Speakers and time to refresh. My favorite part is seeing the ladies grow as the retreat progesses – I am like a proud Mama.
A favorite photo of mine :

It has to be this one. As of right now. This was taken on our first Destination Wedding in Mexico – these rocks were super hard to walk on, like hurting your feet hard! But, this bride and groom her the bomb! They were up for anything to make use of this killer location AND that light! Also, I LOVE the fact that she is barefoot! I was barefoot this whole wedding day! Man that was a good day!
